About Us

Hatha yoga is the physical practice of yoga and there are many varieties of hatha yoga. Read below for each instructor's style to find what speaks to your heart!

Janie Gunn - Janie is the owner of the center and is grateful to share the gifts of yoga with all who walk through the doors. She has over 1700 hours of teacher training. Her first teacher was also the founder of the Indiana Yoga Alliance, Barb Badger, who ignited her desire to share yoga with passion and compassion. She plans to continue studying with a focus on Anusara Yoga® . She has also studied with Desiree Rumbaugh, Gary Kraftsow, Todd Norian and a variety of instructors. She completed a teacher training program with Anusara founder, John Friend and is currently studying with Todd Norian further. Janie teaches a heart-opening practice that includes creating a theme for each class and building upon that theme. She believes in the power of setting intentions, then breathing them fully into the body, mind and spirit during the class. Skillful alignment principles are taught that enables students to enhance the flow of energy in the body. This has proven to be an empowering way to build confidence and a strong inner core to co-create a life of joy and light. Yoga has been personally transforming to Janie and she wishes to motivate others to open up to yoga as an amazing tool for their own transformation. The possibillites are truly amazing!

Laura Spriggs - Laura began practicing yoga in Cincinnati in 2000 and in 2002, her path led her to Anusara Yoga. This style of Hatha Yoga uses Universal Principles of Alignment™ to align the body, mind and spirit; celebrates the goodness in people and in life; and draws people together toward a sense of community (kula). Laura has been blessed to study with Anusara Yoga founder, John Friend, as well as many other Certified Anusara Yoga teachers including Sianna Sherman, Desiree Rumbaugh, Todd Norian and Betsy Downing. Laura is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, is an Anusara-inspired™ yoga teacher, and continues her path toward Anusara Certification, one of the most rigorous yoga certification programs. Laura's teachings offer the invitation to step into one's heart to courageously find deeper meaning and joy that helps to create sensitivity, awareness, and openings in the body. By creating deeper meaning and aligning in optimal ways, we can more easily step into the dance of life to celebrate our innate goodness and to respond to life in ways that are life-affirming, enhancing our lives and the lives of all those that come into contact with us. Laura's classes offer a dynamic practice for students from active beginner to intermediate/advanced levels. Alignment basics, strengthening exercises, as well as some more challenging poses may be taught. Demonstrations and variations are given to accommodate students of all levels.

Eric Bryant - Eric began his study of yoga in New York City in the spring of 2000. He is certified at the 200 hour level through the internationally recognized OM Yoga Center, directed by Cyndi Lee. His classes incorporate a lively vinyasa flow to harmonize the breath and the body. Then an attention to alignment is added to find space in each pose as well as mindfullness to what is going on in the body and mind in each moment. His classes also include strengthening standing poses, toxin shedding twists, fear challenging arm balances, heart opening back bends and perspective changing inversions.

Barb Manley brings a gentle nurturing spirit with years of yoga training and experience. She has worked with Deepok Chopra and is also a wholistic nurse and an Ayurvedic practitioner. She is a wealth of yoga information that she joyously shares with others. Her classes are nurturing and supportive as she uses blankets to create a space for your body to relax and allow the stresses you carry to melt away. Barb often includes the Tibetan Rites in her classes: a series of movements that are proven to reduce aging from the inside out. She includes pranayama (breathing exercises) in all of her classes as well.

Laura Cisler Laura’s classes most often manifest as a combination of gentle flows, slow, deep stretches and spontaneous, fun asanas. She recieved her certification with Don Wenig, at Dancing Feet Yoga in Northwest Indiana, and is in the process of recieiving her 200 hour registration with the Yoga Alliance. The most wonderful gift she has recieved from her yoga practice as of yet is the ability to love herself, and it’s that quality that she most wishes to instill in her students.

Katelin Ryan has a Bachelors degree in Dance Performance and Psychology with minors in Educational Dance and Theater Arts from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and a Masters degree in Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York City. She has been practicing yoga for 5 years and continues to explore her own yogic path every day. Katelin received her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification from Integral Yoga Institute and taught through NYC for the past three years before moving back to Indianapolis this summer. She is also a Registered Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance, a member of the Indiana Yoga Association and the Integral Yoga Teachers Association. Katelin has studied many styles of yoga with Shiva Rea, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Seane Corn, Desiree Rumbaugh, David Swenson and others. Katelin's experience of teaching yoga and dance along with her psychology background enables her to create an environment that promotes rest, rejuvenation, and transformation through her integrated teaching of yoga.


Rosa O'Connor A student of yoga for more than 13 years. Rosa's style has evolved to reflect her studies with many teachers. She completed the 200 hour level teacher training with renowned teacher trainer Nancy Shalk in October 2007 and is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Her classes range from vigorous flow to calm, restorative, gentle moves tailored to meet the student's needs. Rosa is motivated by a desire to share with students the wonderful benefits of an ongoing yoga practice. Enriching mind, body and spirit through the union of breathing, asanas (postures) and relaxation techniques is her goal in teaching.

Suellen Terry is a certified instructor with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. She received her training at Cityoga in 2006. Suellen is inspiring with her upbeat positive attitude as she guides students in a gentle hatha yoga experience. She embraces and embodies truly living life as a precious gift with a sense of humor and her own wisdom.

"Kosmic Kim" lightens up with her Laughter Yoga class on Thursdays at noon. Laughter Yoga is a new style that incorporates yoga exercises with laughter. It is a "fake it till you make it" style that is proven to enhance well-being on all levels. It is also a great workout for your facial muscles and your core. Silly- definitely- healthy and life-enhancing- yes it is!

Robin Cora teaches NIA on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. which is a non impact aerobics that you practice barefoot. It incorporates yoga, tai-chi, martial arts and dance arts in an upbeat manner that gives you quite a cardio experience as well. It will bring a smile to your face as you move, stretch and flow to a rhythmic beat that is easy on your joints.
